The Sacramento River Cats opened their six-game set against the Reno Aces by taking command, lost control during a three-game skid, then pulled themselves back to even with a ninth-inning comeback in the finale. The 3-3 split featured 30 Sacramento runs, two strong wins to begin the series, three straight Reno victories, and a final game that turned Sacramento’s way when it mattered most.

Sacramento opened the series with a 15-hit attack. Scott Bandura went 4-for-5 with a triple, four runs scored, a walk and a stolen base. Parks Harber added three hits and two RBI, Will Brennan drove in three, and Eddys Leonard reached base five times while going 2-for-2 with four RBI and three walks. Sacramento scored five runs in the fourth and never allowed Reno to make the game close. Ramos earned the win in relief, while Alvarado handled the final three innings for the save.

Brennan powered the second victory, going 2-for-5 with a home run, double and three RBI. His two-run homer in the third gave Sacramento a 4-0 advantage, and his RBI double in the fifth restored a three-run cushion after Reno answered. Perdomo worked seven innings for his sixth consecutive winning decision. Cerantola retired the final four batters without allowing a hit to secure the 6-4 win.

Reno halted Sacramento’s momentum behind Short, who tossed five scoreless innings in his Triple-A debut. Whitman kept the River Cats within range for six innings, but Sacramento never broke through. Diego Velasquez supplied the club’s only extra-base hit with a seventh-inning double. Reno added two runs against Will Bednar in the seventh and finished off a 5-0 shutout.

Four Reno runs in the first inning put Sacramento in trouble immediately. LuJames Groover delivered a two-run double during the rally, and Lin held the River Cats to two hits over 6⅓ innings. Sacramento finally ended a 15-inning scoreless stretch when Adrián Sugastey scored on Bandura’s groundout in the sixth. Giesting retired all six batters he faced to finish Reno’s second straight victory.

Arizona pitcher Corbin Burnes began a rehab assignment by retiring all six Sacramento hitters he faced on 17 pitches. Henry followed with five scoreless innings and earned the victory. Reno scored four times in the second and broke the game open with five in the fifth, highlighted by Adrián Del Castillo’s grand slam. Gavin Conticello finished with four hits and three RBI. Sacramento avoided the shutout when Aeverson Arteaga tripled home two runs in the eighth.

Sacramento saved its best reversal for last. Down 7-5 after eight innings, the River Cats attacked Jameson before he could record an out. Bo Davidson delivered the biggest swing, launching a three-run homer that turned the deficit into an 8-7 Sacramento lead. Davidson finished 2-for-3 with a double, homer, walk, five RBI and two runs. The River Cats scored four times in the ninth, and Cerantola protected the 9-7 advantage for his fourth Sacramento save. After winning the first two, losing three straight and facing a series defeat in the finale, Sacramento instead left Reno with an even split and one final comeback to remember.
